Tim Knapp joined LAC Group in March of 2016 to manage Client Engagement for PRO-TEK Vaults at the Burbank and Thousand Oaks locations. Tim brings more than thirty years of experience in motion and still imaging – first in film, and most recently in digital. In his 18 years at Kodak’s manufacturing headquarters in Rochester NY, Tim had technical responsibility for product development, product engineering and quality management.
As the North American Sales Manager in Kodak’s Hollywood Office – and later as Vice President, Sales and Marketing, for Technicolor Entertainment Services — Tim worked directly with movie studios, labs, cinematographers, indie filmmakers, archivists, and others. Tim has an extensive and wide-ranging understanding of the capabilities and challenges of film and video, including the issues and opportunities it presents for archivists as they face aging media libraries and an increasingly digital future.
Tim joins PRO-TEK from Reflex Technologies where he served as President of this archival scanning company. He is currently, a member of the Society of American Archivists, the Association of Moving Image Archivists, an elected Associate Member of the American Society of Cinematographers, and a former Board Member of the Giant Screen Cinema Association where he also Co-chaired the Mentor Program.
Tim lives with his family in Thousand Oaks, CA and enjoys golf and movies.
